The porn industry may be about to start getting it right again. Some 70's/80's porn had plenty of money shots but they tended to be more than f*ck films. That is in part because

the industry still felt the need to have some "redeeming social value" as that helped adult films become more main stream and less likely to be attacked by the community at large. In many communities it still wasn't considered mainstream and there were plenty of attacks on the industry but many of the films produced were better able to protected by the courts. Then with internet / mail order DVD porn it became more about getting down to the sex and less about doing any kind of setup or story at all. Softcore maintained story lines but hardcore became more and more just the same old same old.

Rather than just blaming "free" online f*ck films some in the industry are realizing they've got to get back to making movies that are more than just about the money shot. The industry is good at renewing itself and it looks like the latest plan may result in a surge in profits. The porn company Vivid is going to be producing a series of X-rated retro spoofs of legendary pop culture heroes beginning with Batman XXX. The video will be based on the classic 1960s spoof TV series that starred Adam West and Burt Ward. In the works are X-rated versions of Superman, Wonder Woman and The Hulk. Unlike low-budget porn spoofs of the past, these will have considerable production values or at least that is the plan.

I wish the industry would do more original works but I do get the reason for the spoofs. New and original takes a lot more promotion. Stories many of us take for granted as an overnight success took a lot of promotions. And spoofs can be largely original but with the catch / title that doesn't require as much promotion.

Although I love doing my Ghost of Diamond Bluff and my other totally original stories, I know I have got to start doing more Fan Fiction Sexual Spoofs here that people may be more likely in search. Yes. I do understand. And I agree Fan Fiction Spoofs can be very fun.
